For the final season of Deluxe Small Business Revolution, we decided focus on businesses at Deluxe’s home in the Twin Cities. Additionally, we wanted to highlight black-owned business owners who were affected by loss of income from COVID-related closures and social unrest in the wake of George Floyd. For Tameka Jones, getting laid off from her job presented an opportunity to pursue her dream of starting her own make-up line, Lip Esteem. Although she was having great success selling products in here first year, she knew she needed more tools to take her brand to a higher lever and reach a wider audience. We helped her by creating updated branding, logo, and packaging. But to reach customers outside her physical storefront and farmer’s markets, we also rebuilt her site to reflect the new branding, better SEO, have more consistent categories that customers expect, more consistent product photography and descriptions, and also make it simpler for Tameka to update her ever-evolving line of products. My role was creating the site visual design, photo direction and improving the site’s content hierarchy as part of team.
