This restaurant’s site and branding was featured on the Fourth Season of Deluxe Small Business Revolution. After a nationwide contest, the town of Searcy in Arkansas won. One of the town’s selected businesses to receive a marketing makeover was Whilma’s Filipino Restaurant, run by Whilma Frogoso and her family. They’ve been successfully running their restaurant since 2006 and are a unique offering to the area that inspires rave reviews, word-of-mouth marketing, and a loyal customer base. However, they were struggling with increasing margins enough to expand offerings, and communicating their restaurant’s made-to-order, family-style Filipino cuisine to local customers who weren’t familiar with their brand. They also struggled with lacking key information for customers to find online, such as their menu. My role as a designer was to provide art direction and photo direction of a variety of marketing materials to revamp Whima’s branding of her restaurant, along with personally designing their upcoming website.
